Preparing Your Partner to be Underwhelmed

Environmental socialization is a huge aspect of preparing your canine partner to do their work. The world can be incredibly overwhelming, interesting, distracting, and ALL the things.

Preparing your partner to engage with you and navigate their environment confidently. This can start as a young puppy OR as soon as you get your dog.

I have been known to pull over during a drive to a fun environment or playground just to spend three minutes getting my puppy or dog out of the car so we can play in that location.

No odor work.

No obedience.

Just get out and play.

Then we get back in the car and continue on our way.

This is crucial for the generalization of the idea that playing with me and confidently just existing in a new location is the best thing on the planet.
