Thoughtful Thursday

I'm writing this post and eating celery. I would much rather be eating a glazed doughnut.

The intention of losing weight that I set at the beginning of the year is still working. Because I am doing little things like eating celery and most importantly, NOT buying glazed doughnuts. Do I have one occasionally, yes. And it usually happens at a training when someone brings snacks and I find the stimuli of a glazed doughnut too overpowering to resist.

Eating celery is a small thing in the grand scheme of the big thing of staying healthy. It also satisfies a crunchy eating craving.

One of the ways I set up my new training space means that EVERY TIME I walk into my kennel room, I walk past a stimuli to train. The dogs themselves are not the 'stimuli' to train because they are just as happy going for run or cuddling on the couch. The looming certification is also not enough stimuli to train.

So I have created a stimuli in my everyday life that I pretty much have to trip over. It cues me to train. And, since I made it easier to train, I train more often.

What's one thing you have done to make it easier to stick with your intention to train more often?
