HRD Intermediate Scenarios - July 2021
Time & Location
About The Event
This seminar will introduce handlers and K9's to appropriate thresholds of odor, search strategy, designing training scenarios to further their training and documentation around forensic human remains detection. We are focused on meeting teams at their level and providing ample opportunity for individualized instruction.
Venues will include buildings, vehicles, and limited large areas. Focus is on instructing the handler how best to deploy their K9, setting up training to develop appropriate skills in their K9 partner and being prepared to work in a multitude of environments.
K9's must have a trained final response. This course is ideal for advanced handlers increasing their own knowledge or developing a younger dog. It is also ideal for new handlers who have a certified or almost certified dog. Handlers with young dogs not ready for advanced work are encouraged to audit. Time will also be spent discussing appropriate documentation of a search and training log review.
The seminar is three full days with a fourth day of 'fun' training. The fun training day will not be facilitated but will provide a chance for instructors and attendees to work together and answer more specific questions.
Registration will be limited to 8 working spots and unlimited audits.
Cost: $700 for a working spot (1 dog/handler); $375 for an audit
Includes lodging, working lunches and dinners.
