Set on 520 acres in Iowa, The K9Sensus Education and Research Complex (ERC) provides extensive opportunities for training. Whether it be night operations or trainer interaction with a variety of animal species, the site will expand trainers’ understanding of learning processes and behavior.

SWDI in the DSM Metro
Join us for five days with the Scandinavian Working Dog Institute and K9 Projekt for detection and apprehension work. This training is specifically targeted for law enforcement and public safety professionals.

About the event
This FREE five day intensive workshop will include both classroom and significant hands on experience with Jens Frank, Scandinavian Working Dog Institute (SWDI), and Marcin WyszyÅ„ski, Projekt K9.  These instructors bring years of experience training single and dual purpose dogs for agencies and the military around the world.Â
We will cover both detection and apprehension work, providing information that handlers can put to use immediately in their training. Training will take place inside. Location wil be within the Des Moines Metro Area. Â
This will be five full days of training with evening trainings being an option.
Topics covered include:
- Apprehension - Bite development, functional obedience control, outing, decoy development
- Detection - Develop or clean up your trained final response, dealing with false responses, use of bridges
Robin Greubel and Josh Judge, both SWDI Master Trainer Program Graduates, will be assistant instructors.
This five day event is provided for free to law enforcement professionals in and around central Iowa  and is being hosted by the K9Sensus Foundation through a grant provided by the Prairie Meadows Foundation.  Open spots will be filled by select civilians.Â
