About the event

This FREE five day intensive workshop will include both classroom and significant hands on experience with Jens Frank, Scandinavian Working Dog Institute (SWDI), and Marcin Wyszyński, Projekt K9.  These instructors bring years of experience training single and dual purpose dogs for agencies and the military around the world.

We will cover both detection and apprehension work, providing information that handlers can put to use immediately in their training. Training will take place inside. Location wil be within the Des Moines Metro Area.

This will be five full days of training with evening trainings being an option.

Topics covered include:

  • Apprehension - Bite development, functional obedience control, outing, decoy development
  • Detection - Develop or clean up your trained final response, dealing with false responses, use of bridges

Robin Greubel and Josh Judge, both SWDI Master Trainer Program Graduates, will be assistant instructors.

This five day event is provided for free to law enforcement professionals in and around central Iowa  and is being hosted by the K9Sensus Foundation through a grant provided by the Prairie Meadows Foundation.  Open spots will be filled by select civilians.
