About the event
This seminar will introduce handlers and K9's to appropriate thresholds of odor, search strategy, designing training scenarios to further their training and documentation around forensic human remains detection. We are focused on meeting teams at their level and providing ample opportunity for individualized instruction.
Venues will include buildings, vehicles, and limited large areas. Focus is on instructing the handler how best to deploy their K9, setting up training to develop appropriate skills in their K9 partner and being prepared to work in a multitude of environments.
K9's must have a trained final response. This course is ideal for advanced handlers increasing their own knowledge or developing a younger dog. It is also ideal for new handlers who have a certified or almost certified dog. Â Handlers with young dogs not ready for advanced work are encouraged to audit. Time will also be spent discussing appropriate documentation of a search and training log review.Â
The seminar is a running 72 hour running scenario.
Registration will be limited to 20 working spots and unlimited audits.Â
Cost: $375 for a working spot (1 dog/handler); $150 for an audit
